Calcium Acetate

Calcium Acetate is most commonly used for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia caused during kidney disease. It is known to have chemical formula C4H6CaO4 with molar mass of 158.166 g/mol. This chemical compound appears as white-colored hygroscopic solid with a density of 1.509 g/cm3. It is also utilized as a food additive with E number E263 for stabilizing various preparations. Calcium Acetate works by binding to dietary phosphate thus reduces phosphate levels.
